*** Emergency Relief Fund ***

Dear Friends,

OSA’s Annual Fundraising drive has started. This is the time of the year to donate to the Emergency Relief Fund of OSA, and in return get a tax break and earn the goodwill of the needy people who will be helped by the fund.

As we are in the final months of the year, you may have started planning your year-end tax deductible donations. We hope that OSA features in your list of preferred organizations to receive the donation money for its Emergency Relief Fund. In the past OSA has stepped up to help in many humanitarian situations, and with your help can continue to do so in the future.

Disasters and emergencies come uninvited and they come at the worst possible time. Last year was particularly terrible. There were emergencies one after another, and sometimes together. It was a trying time for the community members. However, thanks to your generosity, OSA was able to raise about $100K for various emergencies. We are lucky to have avoided any serious emergency this year, but we cannot count on our luck and do nothing. Let’s hope for the best but prepare for the worst. We need to have a solid balance in the Emergency Relief Fund to be able to act quickly when a disaster strikes.
