Orissa Educational Activities – A Synopsis
Indo-American Friendship Foundation (IAFF) will sponsor high school students from rural Orissa for summer internship in 2004 at National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) (http://www.nist.edu), Berhampur. The objective is to encourage high school students particularly from rural Orissa to work and learn and potentially aspire for higher education and possible career in science and technology. The Foundation For Excellence (http://www.ffe.org) is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to helping students in India who have demonstrated strong academic ability but do not have the financial resources for education. Volunteers, particularly facilitator from Orissa are needed to facilitate bright and economically disadvantaged students from Orissa to possibly avail the scholarships from the foundation. The OSA education committee is actively participating in the Orissa
Information Technology Society (OITS) and the Sixth International Conference on
Information Technology (CIT) to be held at Bhubaneswar during December 21-24, 2003.
Fund rising for the conference is in progress through individual and industry sponsorship.
